Who can participate in the Y-Scholars Alumni Association?
All Y-Scholars (YS) graduates.
Do I need to be in college to participate?
You don't have to. We understand that some people might need to take a break from college and we want to support them. We do, however, want alumni to take advantage of the information about college or career options that we plan to offer. Having an open-mind is important!
What is the time commitment?
It all depends on your need. The basic requirement is at least 1 hour a month for college undergraduates.
What would I be doing during that hour?
Most often, college advising. For other times, training or info-session related to college, graduate school, careers, and professional development.
I go to college outside the Bay Area, can I still participate?
Yes! We plan to do scheduled online advising sessions for YS alumni who attend college outside the Bay Area. You can also still join our social events, retreats, training, and info-sessions if you’re available.
I graduated from college, can I still participate?
Yes! You can join our social events, retreats, training, and info-sessions. You could also mentor younger alumni.
What are the requirements to enroll?
Alumni interested in the alumni program will need to fill out an enrollment form. After this form gets submitted, you will need to schedule a fingerprint appointment at the Teen Center, which free.
How do I enroll in the Y-Scholars Alumni Association?
We’re still working on the official form. We will send it to you when it's ready. For now, you can fill out the interest form.
